THE ART OF ARRIVING
Straight answers to questions worth asking before you charter.
How far in advance should I enquire?
For popular summer weeks and larger yachts, earlier planning offers more options. Availability and terms always need direct confirmation.
Do I need a sailing licence?
Crewed charters do not usually require guests to skipper. Bareboat charter requires qualifications accepted by the operator and Croatian authorities.
Can we start in Dubrovnik and finish in Split?
One-way charters may be possible, depending on the vessel, delivery logistics and extra fees. Ask before assuming it is included.
What happens if the weather changes?
The captain may adapt the route or keep the yacht sheltered for safety. Ask about weather policies and cancellation terms in advance.
Are fuel and marina fees included?
Not always. Request an itemised quote identifying fuel, berth costs, crew, provisioning, taxes and any allowance.
Can I visit national parks by yacht?
Some areas require tickets, permits or special anchoring practices. Confirm current rules for places such as Kornati before entering.
